One of my absolute highlights of my role as a swim instructor is witnessing the incredible journey of young swimmers as they conquer their fears and master new aquatic skills. But what truly warms my heart is seeing those same kids putting those skills into action, confidently navigating the water and ensuring their own safety. It’s like watching a proud parent seeing their child ride a bike for the first time- pure magic! This aspect of teaching brings me boundless joy and fulfillment, reminding me why I love what I do every single day.
As I dive into my many memories of favorite swim nostalgia, one ultimate memory stands out. It’s when my dad would take me and my siblings to the local pool for some family swim fun. The highlight was when my dad would transform into a submarine by swimming to the bottom of the shallow end and we would take turns perched on his back like we were catching waves on a surfboard. Such a fond memory.
